Training on Soil Survey and Classification in Battambang Province

Human Resource development in agriculture sector especially capacity building on soil management play a key role to improve agricultural productivities to fulfil the achievement food security poverty alleviation in the rural areas. The capacity building of agriculture officer in subnational level still limited. In order to do so, it is required to build capacity of technical officers in soil survey and classification in the purpose of agricultural land resources management as well as serving the need for development of agricultural sector.

In above reason MAFF-NIO sent his agricultural Land Management Officer to Bavel District, Battambang Province to organize a training on soil survey and collection soil data to assess agricultural land resource for suitable crop especially for rice as capacity building for PDAFF. The training held from 20-24 February 2017.  

There were twenty six participants including two women. At the end of the training they were able to do soil survey, classification, land management, land assessment and improvement as well.
